I like the structural half of the craft.

Information architecture, systems that scale, and interfaces that hold up under real pressure. There is nothing like the moment a tangled problem finally clicks.

A LITTLE MORE

Adaptable on purpose, not by accident.

Design has always been about making complicated things feel simple to me. I got here through Multimedia Design at ORT and four years of client work, most of it on products where the hard part was not the screen, it was the model underneath it.

I think a good designer should be comfortable wearing several hats. I have designed enterprise SaaS platforms, consumer mobile apps and websites, and lately I moved my high fidelity work into Subframe, where screens are assembled from real components instead of drawn. It changed how I hand off, and how early I can be wrong in public.

I have worked as the only designer on a project and inside a product team with engineers and PMs. I would not want only one of the two. Solo teaches you to decide, a team teaches you to defend the decision.

Outside design you will find me playing guitar or piano, watching football, or losing track of time in a good video game, record or film.
