The short version

This website does not use cookies. Not first party, not third party, not analytics, not advertising. Your browser will not receive a single cookie from martinbajac.com.

That is also why you are not being interrupted by a consent banner. A banner exists to collect permission for storage that is not strictly necessary. There is none here to permit.

What is stored instead

One thing, and only if you use the language switch:

• lang, in your browser's local storage. It holds either en or es and remembers which language you picked, so the site does not reset to English on the next page.

Local storage is not a cookie. It is never attached to network requests, it is never sent to my server or anyone else's, and it contains no identifier, no session token and nothing about you.

Why no consent banner

Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and equivalent rules, consent is required to store or access information on a visitor's device, with an exemption for storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service the user explicitly requested.

Choosing a language is an explicit request, and remembering that choice is the service. On that basis the lang value falls within the exemption, in the same way a shopping cart or a language preference cookie does.

There is nothing else. No analytics identifiers, no advertising, no social plugins, and no third-party embeds. The fonts are self-hosted on this domain, so no request is made to Google Fonts or any other outside service while you browse.

How to clear it

Switch the language back and the value simply changes. To remove it entirely, clear site data for martinbajac.com in your browser settings, or browse in a private window, where it is discarded when you close the window.

Blocking local storage will not break the site. It will just open in English every time.

What your host sees anyway

Independently of cookies, the hosting provider records standard server logs when a page is served: IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp. This happens for every website on the internet and is covered in the Privacy Policy.

If this ever changes

If I add analytics, a contact form, an embedded video or anything else that sets cookies or stores non-essential data, this page will be updated first and a proper consent mechanism will appear before any such storage happens.
